ABS

Characteristics

General performance:is non-toxic and tasteless,appearance isivoryopaque particles or beads,density is 1.05~1.18g/cm3, and the shrinkage rate is 0.4~0.9%,modulus of elasticity is 2GPa, Poisson's ratio is 0.394, hygroscopicity <1%, melting temperature 217~237 ℃, thermal decomposition temperature> 250 ℃.

Excellent mechanical properties, good impact strength, and can be used at extremely low temperatures; excellent wear resistance, good dimensional stability, andhas oil resistance and can be used for bearings under medium load and low rotation speed. ABS has higher creep resistance than PSF and PC, but smaller than PA and POM.

Thermal performance: ABS is 93~118 ℃, and the product can be increased by about 10 ℃ after annealing treatment.itscan still show certain toughness at -40 ℃ and can be used in the temperature range of -40~100 ℃.

Electrical performance: has good electrical insulation, is hardly affected by temperature, humidity and frequency, and can be used in most environments.

Environmental performance:is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkalis and various acids, but it is soluble in ketones, aldehydes and chlorinated hydrocarbons, and will cause stress cracking when attacked by glacial acetic acid and vegetable oil. ABS has poor weather resistance and is easy to degrade under the action of ultraviolet light. After half a year outdoors, the impact strength drops by half.

Application

Automotive field: automotive dashboard, body outer panel, fender, inner trim panel, steering wheel, sound insulation panel, handle, armrest, door lock, bumper, fan blade, ventilation pipe, glove box, glove box, upper and lower door trims, tank maskand many other components.

Electronics: refrigerators, televisions, washing machines, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, meterscomputers, photocopiers and other electronic appliances.

Building materials:ABS pipe, ABS sanitary ware, ABS decorative board, etc.

Machinery: gears, pump impellers, bearings, handles, pipes, pipe fittings, battery tanks, power tool housings, etc.

In addition, ABS is also widely used in packaging, furniture, sports and entertainment products, machinery and instrument industries.

ABS plastic is a terpolymer of acrylonitrile (A), butadiene (B) and styrene (S). Adjust the ratio of the three components, and their performance will also change to meet the requirements of various applications, such as high anti-ABS, heat-resistant ABS, high-gloss ABS, etc.

ABS plastic has the common properties of three components. Acrylonitrile makes it resistant to chemical corrosion, heat resistance, and has a certain surface hardness. Butadiene makes it have high elasticity and toughness.
